Wuhan Asia General Hospital is a tertiary general hospital opened by Hong Kong Asia Medical Group in 2018. The hospital area covers of 240,000 square meters and it has 1,100 beds. In addition to providing medical care, Wuhan Asia General Hospital is also a teaching hospital and center of scientific research. Working with Lenovo, the hospital established two cloud data centers located 50 kilometers from the hospital that provide a highly reliable IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) platform, SAP HANA platforms, and hyperconverged solutions that help it run clinical and administrative system at high speed and scale.

When Hong Kong Asia Medical Group decided to build a state-of-the-art general hospital in Wuhan, it knew it needed a flexible, scalable IT platform to support smart hospital systems powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). It decided to harness state-of-the-art technologies to overcome these challenges. Its “smart hospital” approach includes automated robotic logistics systems, IoT sensors and AI-assisted diagnostic tools to help physicians assess each patient’s needs and provide appropriate treatment as quickly and efficiently as possible.
