Barcelona Supercomputing Center -- Pushing the boundaries of human knowledge
Climate change. Energy security. Fighting disease. Air quality. To help scientists turn mountains of data into accurate models of our complex world, BSC has powered up a Lenovo supercomputer with Intel processors capable of performing trillions of computations per second.
Carl Von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg
Tackling the major societal challenges of the 21st century requires access to high-performance computing (HPC) resources capable of analyzing data and producing results fast. Working with pro-com DATENSYSTEME, the University of Oldenburg installed an HPC cluster based on Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5 nodes, Lenovo System x3650 M5 servers and Lenovo GSS24 – increasing performance by a factor of 17. By securing a spot on the TOP500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers, the university has strengthened its reputation as a renowned research location, ready for new talent and projects
University of Notre Dame
To advance human understanding of everything from metrology to quantum physics, academics from the University of Notre Dame rely on high-performance computing (HPC) systems to run advanced data analyses and simulations. To equip researchers with the tools they need to make the next great discovery, Notre Dame’s Center for Research Computing implemented a cluster based on 500 Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5 compute nodes. With more compute power available than ever before, researchers can accelerate exploration and discovery.
Babes-Bolyai University
To push the boundaries of knowledge, researchers thirst for access to high-performance computing resources that will analyze data and produce results faster. To fulfill this desire, Babes-Bolyai University (UBB), one of Romania’s leading research universities, worked with ETA2U to implement a Lenovo Intelligent Cluster based on Lenovo NeXtScale M5 compute nodes and powered by over 1,000 Intel® Xeon® processor cores. Today, the university can provide all researchers with the resources they need to run complex, compute-intensive experiments, enhancing its reputation as a first-rate center for research.
University of Adelaide
The University of Adelaide, one of Australia’s leading research universities, wanted to better support researchers from a wide range of disciplines. Previously, researchers had to compete for limited external HPC facilities, which often left groups without enough compute resources or resulted in delays in securing access. With Phoenix, a supercomputer based on a Lenovo NeXtScale System M5 cluster with over 3,800 Intel® Xeon® processor cores, the university can now offer researchers a powerful, state-of-the-art research tool, helping to enhance its status as a world-class research center.
